Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Oil & Gas Producers and Food Producers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.29% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were AXA SA (PARIS:AXAF), which rose 2.84% or 0.64 points to trade at 23.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Alcatel-Lucent (PARIS:ALUA) added 2.43% or 0.078 points to end at 3.287 and Valeo (PARIS:VLOF) was up 2.32% or 3.25 points to 143.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Technip (PARIS:TECF), which fell 4.40% or 2.81 points to trade at 61.00 at the close. Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) declined 2.54% or 0.24 points to end at 9.33 and Alstom (PARIS:ALSO) was down 2.32% or 0.66 points to 27.61.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Bollore SA (PARIS:BOLL) which rose 3.21% to 5.02, Ubisoft Entertainment (PARIS:UBIP) which was up 3.14% to settle at 17.060 and Air France KLM SA (PARIS:AIRF) which gained 2.92% to close at 7.801.
The worst performers were Elior (PARIS:ELIOR) which was down 6.47% to 15.90 in late trade, Groupe Eurotunnel (PARIS:GETP) which lost 4.92% to settle at 13.525 and Maurel Et Prom (PARIS:MAUP) which was down 4.82% to 8.05 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 585 to 344 and 37 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.99% to 22.26.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.69% or 8.20 to $1182.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.20% or 1.34 to hit $59.59 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.10% or 1.43 to trade at $66.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.67% to 1.1274, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.7405.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 94.76.
