Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which rose 2.25% or 0.52 points to trade at 23.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale (PA:SOGN) added 0.77% or 0.38 points to end at 49.73 and AXA SA (PA:AXAF) was up 0.76% or 0.18 points to 23.89 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA), which fell 0.97% or 0.056 points to trade at 5.693 at the close. Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) declined 0.92% or 0.60 points to end at 64.31 and Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) was down 0.79% or 0.30 points to 37.51.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were GTT (PA:GTT) which rose 3.29% to 36.59, Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was up 2.76% to settle at 30.860 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) which gained 2.25% to close at 23.64.
The worst performers were Ipsen (PA:IPN) which was down 1.90% to 108.40 in late trade, Biomerieux (PA:BIOX) which lost 1.76% to settle at 187.00 and STMicroelectronics (PA:STM) which was down 1.46% to 14.500 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 350 to 278 and 89 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 4.49% to 14.20.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.14% or 1.73 to $1266.37 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.68% or 0.34 to hit $50.14 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.28 to trade at $52.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1181, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8704.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 97.28.
