Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 4.26% to hit a new 3-months low, while the SBF 120 index declined 4.36%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bureau Veritas SA (EPA:BVI), which fell 0.22% or 0.06 points to trade at 26.78 at the close. Meanwhile, L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) fell 0.34% or 1.20 points to end at 349.70 and Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) was down 0.63% or 1.10 points to 173.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which fell 10.45% or 4.03 points to trade at 34.55 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) declined 9.25% or 6.90 points to end at 67.72 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 8.45% or 2.10 points to 22.75.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which unchanged 0.00% to 39.00, Mersen (EPA:CBLP) which was unchanged 0.00% to settle at 18.00 and Bureau Veritas SA (EPA:BVI) which lost 0.22% to close at 26.78.
The worst performers were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 17.59% to 2.61 in late trade, Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which lost 12.41% to settle at 56.41 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) which was down 10.45% to 34.55 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 461 to 64 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mersen (EPA:CBLP) unchanged to 3-years lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 18.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 2.62% or 81.89 to $3,039.81 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 7.62% or 5.10 to hit $61.85 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 6.76% or 4.74 to trade at $65.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.44% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 1.00% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 102.26.
