France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.35%

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.35% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.48%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which rose 0.46% or 2.25 points to trade at 495.40 at the close. Meanwhile, L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) added 0.30% or 1.00 points to end at 334.05 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was up 0.20% or 2.50 points to 1,244.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 5.26% or 14.90 points to trade at 268.50 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 4.29% or 2.17 points to end at 48.37 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was down 3.72% or 6.25 points to 161.80.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which rose 4.36% to 1.44, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was up 2.88% to settle at 6.72 and BIC (EPA:BICP) which gained 1.66% to close at 58.15.

The worst performers were SES (EPA:SESFd) which was down 7.46% to 6.18 in late trade, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which lost 5.97% to settle at 0.81 and Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which was down 5.96% to 22.10 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 403 to 147 and 74 ended unchanged.

Shares in Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.26% or 14.90 to 268.50. Shares in SES (EPA:SESFd) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.46% or 0.50 to 6.18.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.32% or 5.45 to $1,672.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.46% or 1.25 to hit $84.11 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.33% or 1.22 to trade at $90.78 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 109.82.
