TSMC Q2 sales jump 39% on robust AI-driven chip demand
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.04% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which rose 1.27% or 0.25 points to trade at 19.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) added 0.47% or 0.06 points to end at 12.81 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 0.47% or 0.06 points to 12.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which fell 3.44% or 0.30 points to trade at 8.48 at the close. Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) declined 3.35% or 1.50 points to end at 43.26 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) was down 2.76% or 2.72 points to 95.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Getlink SE (EPA:GETP) which rose 1.55% to 16.43, Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) which was up 1.27% to settle at 19.88 and Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which gained 1.16% to close at 165.60.
The worst performers were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 7.62% to 4.27 in late trade, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which lost 7.00% to settle at 10.49 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 6.44% to 45.75 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 351 to 128 and 91 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.28% or 43.50 to $3,445.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 5.42% or 3.69 to hit $71.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 5.41% or 3.75 to trade at $73.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 98.07.
