Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.93% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which rose 2.86% or 2.62 points to trade at 94.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 1.51% or 1.54 points to end at 103.40 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was up 1.14% or 0.15 points to 13.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which fell 3.81% or 0.42 points to trade at 10.50 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 3.66% or 0.78 points to end at 20.51 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was down 3.62% or 8.15 points to 217.15.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES (EPA:SESFd) which rose 3.15% to 5.57, Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which was up 3.01% to settle at 45.16 and ICADE (EPA:ICAD) which gained 2.99% to close at 21.36.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 6.96% to 4.07 in late trade, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which lost 5.83% to settle at 7.94 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 4.45% to 2.57 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 306 to 174 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.81% or 0.42 to 10.50. Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.66% or 0.78 to 20.51.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.90% or 27.69 to $3,118.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.80% or 0.56 to hit $69.36 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.82% or 0.60 to trade at $72.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 103.74.
