Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Gas & Water sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.90%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which rose 1.52% or 1.51 points to trade at 100.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) added 0.75% or 8.00 points to end at 1,076.00 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) was up 0.61% or 0.31 points to 50.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 5.57% or 1.44 points to trade at 24.43 at the close. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) declined 4.93% or 3.86 points to end at 74.42 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was down 4.10% or 2.18 points to 50.93.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which rose 5.77% to 15.92, Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which was up 4.75% to settle at 89.35 and Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which gained 2.40% to close at 123.50.
The worst performers were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 7.75% to 2.19 in late trade, Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which lost 6.56% to settle at 36.47 and Covivio SA (EPA:CVO) which was down 6.49% to 54.05 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 387 to 160 and 86 ended unchanged.
Shares in Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.77% or 0.87 to 15.92. Shares in Covivio SA (EPA:CVO) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.49% or 3.75 to 54.05.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.17% or 3.15 to $1,818.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.04% or 0.05 to hit $111.81 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.32 to trade at $114.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 104.82.
