Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Gas & Water sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.83%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLA), which rose 2.41% or 0.31 points to trade at 13.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 2.32% or 0.51 points to end at 22.75 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was up 2.03% or 0.41 points to 20.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS), which fell 3.62% or 46.50 points to trade at 1,237.00 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 2.92% or 9.80 points to end at 325.30 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) was down 2.91% or 10.50 points to 350.95.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which rose 9.93% to 382.00, Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was up 3.34% to settle at 12.36 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which gained 2.98% to close at 22.84.
The worst performers were SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 5.20% to 26.46 in late trade, Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which lost 4.62% to settle at 51.60 and Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 4.37% to 35.21 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 311 to 256 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.03% or 0.41 to 20.60.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.36% or 27.05 to $1,959.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 5.09% or 5.48 to hit $102.13 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 5.20% or 5.88 to trade at $107.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 100.92.
