Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.78%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which rose 3.44% or 0.43 points to trade at 12.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) added 2.77% or 0.76 points to end at 28.23 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was up 2.71% or 4.34 points to 164.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN), which fell 6.92% or 17.80 points to trade at 239.60 at the close. Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) declined 3.45% or 3.80 points to end at 106.50 and Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) was down 2.03% or 3.62 points to 174.78.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which rose 10.03% to 1.30, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was up 6.15% to settle at 2.76 and Opmobility SE (EPA:OPM) which gained 4.41% to close at 11.37.
The worst performers were Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) which was down 6.92% to 239.60 in late trade, Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) which lost 3.45% to settle at 106.50 and Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which was down 2.59% to 28.25 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 257 to 234 and 97 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.17% or 5.11 to $2,958.31 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.57% or 0.40 to hit $70.80 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.31 to trade at $74.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 106.50.
