Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.64%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 2.92% or 1.01 points to trade at 35.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (PA:WLN) added 2.72% or 1.94 points to end at 73.18 and Orange SA (PA:ORAN) was up 1.61% or 0.15 points to 9.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP), which fell 4.07% or 1.36 points to trade at 32.17 at the close. Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) declined 3.95% or 0.50 points to end at 12.21 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was down 3.79% or 0.29 points to 7.42.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which rose 2.92% to 35.64, Worldline SA (PA:WLN) which was up 2.72% to settle at 73.18 and Ingenico Group SA (PA:INGC) which gained 2.57% to close at 137.50.
The worst performers were Natixis (PA:CNAT) which was down 6.55% to 2.00 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which lost 5.54% to settle at 15.000 and Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which was down 5.18% to 12.08 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 393 to 187 and 78 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vallourec (PA:VLLP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.54% or 0.880 to 15.000.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.11% to 22.73.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.79% or 34.45 to $1894.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.66% or 1.05 to hit $40.48 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.18% or 0.91 to trade at $42.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.1735, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.9056.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 93.573.
