Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.51%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 4.68% or 4.40 points to trade at 98.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) added 2.21% or 0.71 points to end at 32.85 and Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) was up 1.54% or 0.56 points to 36.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which fell 4.25% or 0.48 points to trade at 10.91 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 4.08% or 1.18 points to end at 27.74 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was down 2.15% or 0.81 points to 36.94.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which rose 4.68% to 98.46, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was up 4.34% to settle at 2.69 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) which gained 2.21% to close at 32.85.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 14.31% to 4.37 in late trade, Trigano SA (EPA:TRIA) which lost 11.02% to settle at 105.00 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which was down 7.76% to 9.21 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 270 to 208 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) fell to 3-years lows; losing 4.25% or 0.48 to 10.91.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.38% or 41.99 to $3,094.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $69.67 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $73.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.44% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 103.92.
