Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.47%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY), which rose 2.69% or 1.00 points to trade at 38.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) added 2.14% or 0.29 points to end at 14.09 and Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) was up 1.82% or 0.31 points to 17.33 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which fell 3.26% or 12.55 points to trade at 372.60 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) declined 3.09% or 5.90 points to end at 185.00 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) was down 2.18% or 11.70 points to 525.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Trigano SA (EPA:TRIA) which rose 10.85% to 131.80, Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) which was up 2.69% to settle at 38.23 and Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which gained 2.62% to close at 191.90.
The worst performers were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was down 17.28% to 18.76 in late trade, Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE) which lost 9.60% to settle at 8.00 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 9.36% to 38.07 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 270 to 208 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.82% or 0.31 to 17.33.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.92% or 62.51 to $3,185.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.42% or 0.27 to hit $63.40 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.34 to trade at $66.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 100.63.
