Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.26%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 4.39% or 2.07 points to trade at 49.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) added 2.00% or 0.22 points to end at 11.32 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 1.96% or 4.70 points to 244.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which fell 2.83% or 0.38 points to trade at 12.87 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) declined 2.13% or 4.40 points to end at 202.40 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was down 1.85% or 1.96 points to 103.88.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which rose 7.78% to 13.10, Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE) which was up 5.03% to settle at 9.39 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which gained 4.96% to close at 3.55.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 7.57% to 3.86 in late trade, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which lost 7.15% to settle at 10.31 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was down 5.99% to 22.11 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 267 to 228 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.13% or 4.40 to 202.40.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.16% or 4.91 to $3,043.49 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.14% or 0.78 to hit $69.06 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.72 to trade at $72.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 104.05.
