Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.19%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 2.58% or 2.70 points to trade at 107.45 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 1.74% or 0.99 points to end at 58.01 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was up 1.29% or 1.02 points to 80.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which fell 3.63% or 3.85 points to trade at 102.30 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) declined 2.68% or 6.40 points to end at 232.40 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was down 2.59% or 1.27 points to 47.77.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 16.96% to 3.09, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was up 4.13% to settle at 13.36 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) which gained 2.58% to close at 107.45.
The worst performers were X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which was down 6.70% to 4.60 in late trade, Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which lost 3.73% to settle at 89.10 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which was down 3.63% to 102.30 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 264 to 238 and 88 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.78% or 22.41 to $2,898.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.10% or 1.53 to hit $71.17 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.94% or 1.48 to trade at $74.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 107.26.
