Nvidia to resume H20 chip sales in China, announces new processor
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.14%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 2.22% or 1.19 points to trade at 54.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 1.69% or 0.81 points to end at 48.82 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was up 1.50% or 0.29 points to 19.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which fell 3.13% or 5.64 points to trade at 174.66 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 2.74% or 0.25 points to end at 8.78 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was down 2.64% or 2.64 points to 97.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 15.38% to 4.62, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was up 7.74% to settle at 11.28 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which gained 5.18% to close at 51.60.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 7.25% to 8.65 in late trade, Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which lost 3.46% to settle at 23.75 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 3.43% to 2.39 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 271 to 192 and 104 ended unchanged.
Shares in Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.50% or 0.29 to 19.63. Shares in Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) rose to 52-week highs; rising 15.38% or 0.62 to 4.62.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.91% or 63.80 to $3,407.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $68.19 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.16 to trade at $69.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.76% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.50% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 97.96.
