Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.09%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Atos SE (PA:ATOS), which rose 3.89% or 2.50 points to trade at 66.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) added 1.97% or 0.225 points to end at 11.640 and Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) was up 1.15% or 0.27 points to 23.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which fell 1.52% or 1.22 points to trade at 79.08 at the close. Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) declined 1.16% or 7.40 points to end at 630.60 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) was down 0.95% or 1.35 points to 140.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which rose 8.52% to 14.400, Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which was up 3.89% to settle at 66.84 and Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which gained 3.07% to close at 100.600.
The worst performers were Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which was down 8.33% to 440.00 in late trade, Euronext (PA:ENX) which lost 4.63% to settle at 71.10 and GTT (PA:GTT) which was down 2.60% to 86.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 296 to 274 and 83 ended unchanged.
Shares in Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.07% or 3.000 to 100.600.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.27% to 14.15.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.61% or 9.05 to $1492.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.42% or 0.75 to hit $53.56 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 0.81 to trade at $59.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.1081, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8624.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 97.650.
