Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.20% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY), which rose 4.12% or 1.40 points to trade at 35.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) added 3.88% or 0.470 points to end at 12.590 and Societe Generale (PA:SOGN) was up 3.48% or 1.59 points to 47.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 2.89% or 2.49 points to trade at 83.76 at the close. Technip (PA:TECF) declined 1.86% or 1.27 points to end at 67.13 and Sodexo (PA:EXHO) was down 0.67% or 0.70 points to 103.75.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euronext (PA:ENX) which rose 5.15% to 42.59, Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) which was up 4.12% to settle at 35.28 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) which gained 3.88% to close at 12.590.
The worst performers were Technicolor (PA:TCH) which was down 19.69% to 3.927 in late trade, Renault SA (PA:RENA) which lost 2.89% to settle at 83.76 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 2.15% to 10.4600 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 394 to 213 and 112 ended unchanged.
Shares in Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.88% or 0.470 to 12.590. Shares in Technicolor (PA:TCH) fell to 52-week lows; losing 19.69% or 0.963 to 3.927. Shares in Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.88% or 0.470 to 12.590. Shares in CGG SA (PA:GEPH) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.15% or 0.2300 to 10.4600.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 8.83% to 13.73 a new 52-week low.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.28% or 3.30 to $1196.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.70% or 0.37 to hit $52.64 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.28 to trade at $55.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.0638, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8712.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 101.22.
