Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 2.37%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 2.40%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 4.72% or 2.24 points to trade at 49.74 at the close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) added 4.40% or 2.89 points to end at 68.50 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 3.75% or 3.24 points to 89.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which rose 0.11% or 0.02 points to trade at 18.08 at the close. Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) added 0.64% or 0.19 points to end at 29.92 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 0.78% or 0.10 points to 12.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 15.07% to 3.19, Rubis SCA (EPA:RUBF) which was up 8.11% to settle at 26.92 and Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which gained 6.26% to close at 49.71.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 2.63% to 0.00 in late trade, Opmobility SE (EPA:OPM) which lost 0.40% to settle at 8.61 and Sodexo SA (EPA:EXHO) which was down 0.09% to 55.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 356 to 138 and 71 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.83% or 26.91 to $3,217.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.80% or 0.49 to hit $61.01 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.49% or 0.32 to trade at $64.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 99.41.
