Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.86%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.83%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which rose 3.80% or 4.85 points to trade at 132.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Safran SA (EPA:SAF) added 3.53% or 4.54 points to end at 133.14 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was up 3.40% or 4.02 points to 122.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 2.63% or 1.66 points to trade at 61.42 at the close. Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) declined 0.67% or 0.07 points to end at 10.68 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was down 0.28% or 0.03 points to 9.42.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) which rose 7.52% to 12.08, SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which was up 7.34% to settle at 111.20 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which gained 7.26% to close at 8.35.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 3.52% to 6.17 in late trade, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which lost 2.63% to settle at 61.42 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was down 2.23% to 35.02 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 343 to 209 and 87 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) fell to all time lows; down 3.52% or 0.22 to 6.17.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.28% or 5.35 to $1,911.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 3.33% or 2.49 to hit $72.31 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 3.12% or 2.52 to trade at $78.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 103.27.
