Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.33%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which rose 3.78% or 0.52 points to trade at 14.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (PA:PRTP) added 3.22% or 17.80 points to end at 570.50 and Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) was up 3.12% or 3.65 points to 120.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 1.05% or 0.39 points to trade at 36.22 at the close. Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) declined 0.33% or 0.04 points to end at 10.48 and Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) was down 0.32% or 0.06 points to 17.22.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which rose 8.02% to 35.00, Lagardere SCA (PA:LAGA) which was up 4.15% to settle at 21.06 and Aeroports de Paris SA (PA:ADP) which gained 4.06% to close at 105.20.
The worst performers were Metropole Television SA (PA:MMTP) which was down 2.72% to 13.60 in late trade, BIC (PA:BICP) which lost 2.34% to settle at 46.72 and Mercialys SA (PA:MERY) which was down 2.10% to 7.21 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 340 to 266 and 81 ended unchanged.
Shares in Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.12% or 3.65 to 120.60.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 10.69% to 21.32.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.07% or 1.25 to $1884.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $48.05 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.07 to trade at $51.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.2216, while EUR/GBP rose 0.96% to 0.9082.
