Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.67% to hit a new 5-year high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.64%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which rose 8.74% or 41.30 points to trade at 514.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) added 6.03% or 6.10 points to end at 107.30 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 3.60% or 0.488 points to 14.050 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP), which fell 5.10% or 5.45 points to trade at 101.50 at the close. Atos SE (PA:ATOS) declined 3.35% or 2.34 points to end at 67.54 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 1.26% or 0.19 points to 14.93.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Kering SA (PA:PRTP) which rose 8.74% to 514.00, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) which was up 6.03% to settle at 107.30 and Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which gained 4.27% to close at 17.11.

The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 16.18% to 46.940 in late trade, Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) which lost 5.10% to settle at 101.50 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which was down 3.35% to 67.54 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 294 to 252 and 106 ended unchanged.

Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) fell to 52-week lows; down 16.18% or 9.060 to 46.940.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.27% to 12.84 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.15 to $1504.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $56.23 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.22 to trade at $61.45 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1074, while EUR/GBP rose 0.00% to 0.8639.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 97.683.
