Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.57%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP), which rose 2.89% or 2.19 points to trade at 77.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) added 1.96% or 0.60 points to end at 31.19 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was up 1.93% or 0.95 points to 50.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which fell 2.75% or 6.15 points to trade at 217.40 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) declined 1.63% or 0.53 points to end at 31.96 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was down 1.16% or 1.70 points to 145.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which rose 8.95% to 322.50, SES (EPA:SESFd) which was up 7.56% to settle at 5.91 and Mersen (EPA:CBLP) which gained 5.42% to close at 20.60.
The worst performers were Spie SA (EPA:SPIE) which was down 3.35% to 40.44 in late trade, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which lost 2.75% to settle at 217.40 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which was down 1.63% to 31.96 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 300 to 188 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.89% or 2.19 to 77.91.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.09% or 2.61 to $3,003.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.58% or 0.39 to hit $67.30 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.64% or 0.45 to trade at $71.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 102.98.
