Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.50%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which rose 4.98% or 1.30 points to trade at 27.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 3.75% or 1.65 points to end at 45.60 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was up 2.55% or 1.38 points to 55.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR), which fell 4.41% or 0.76 points to trade at 16.49 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) declined 2.27% or 1.19 points to end at 51.16 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was down 1.91% or 0.16 points to 8.15.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which rose 12.75% to 52.29, Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which was up 5.42% to settle at 96.20 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which gained 4.98% to close at 27.38.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 11.81% to 1.48 in late trade, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which lost 9.91% to settle at 176.40 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was down 6.99% to 25.54 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 322 to 171 and 77 ended unchanged.
Shares in Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.75% or 1.65 to 45.60.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.44% or 14.55 to $3,319.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 3.16% or 1.91 to hit $58.51 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.14% or 1.99 to trade at $61.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 99.28.
