Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.50%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which rose 2.65% or 3.72 points to trade at 144.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 2.34% or 2.16 points to end at 94.30 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was up 2.29% or 4.00 points to 178.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which fell 1.97% or 0.64 points to trade at 31.91 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) declined 1.92% or 0.51 points to end at 26.02 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was down 1.32% or 0.27 points to 20.15.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 8.27% to 3.87, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was up 6.44% to settle at 11.00 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which gained 4.68% to close at 2.59.
The worst performers were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 6.59% to 2.95 in late trade, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which lost 3.09% to settle at 48.94 and Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was down 2.30% to 6.87 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 290 to 188 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) fell to 5-year lows; down 1.92% or 0.51 to 26.02.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.30% or 42.79 to $3,341.19 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.75% or 1.10 to hit $61.92 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.85% or 1.22 to trade at $64.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 98.99.
