Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.42%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which rose 3.00% or 0.93 points to trade at 31.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) added 2.95% or 0.08 points to end at 2.90 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was up 2.17% or 5.15 points to 242.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which fell 2.31% or 0.84 points to trade at 35.27 at the close. Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) declined 1.50% or 1.65 points to end at 108.20 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) was down 1.22% or 1.23 points to 99.42.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 8.13% to 3.38, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was up 4.20% to settle at 19.59 and X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which gained 3.86% to close at 4.68.
The worst performers were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 5.69% to 2.85 in late trade, Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which lost 4.01% to settle at 138.90 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) which was down 2.31% to 35.27 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 310 to 213 and 70 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.22% or 1.23 to 99.42. Shares in Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) rose to 3-years highs; up 4.20% or 0.79 to 19.59.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.43% or 41.31 to $2,928.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.08% or 1.48 to hit $72.48 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.83% or 1.37 to trade at $76.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 108.12.
