Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.28%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 6.79% or 1.43 points to trade at 22.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) added 5.27% or 0.68 points to end at 13.58 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 4.15% or 1.73 points to 43.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 2.82% or 4.40 points to trade at 151.75 at the close. Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) declined 2.27% or 2.05 points to end at 88.21 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was down 1.99% or 1.48 points to 72.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Natixis (PA:CNAT) which rose 7.85% to 2.24, Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which was up 7.18% to settle at 14.63 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) which gained 6.79% to close at 22.42.
The worst performers were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 37.61% to 4.18 in late trade, SCOR SE (PA:SCOR) which lost 3.98% to settle at 21.70 and Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 3.30% to 28.240 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 306 to 262 and 89 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.91% to 23.93.
Gold Futures for October delivery was up 1.57% or 30.95 to $2005.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.98% or 0.40 to hit $41.41 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.27% or 0.12 to trade at $44.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1777, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.9014.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 93.403.
