Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.26%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which rose 2.13% or 8.20 points to trade at 393.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) added 2.03% or 4.10 points to end at 206.50 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was up 1.55% or 0.86 points to 56.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 7.50% or 4.01 points to trade at 49.48 at the close. Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) declined 1.79% or 3.05 points to end at 167.45 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was down 1.03% or 0.22 points to 21.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which rose 3.92% to 94.05, Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which was up 3.03% to settle at 183.70 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which gained 2.93% to close at 20.74.
The worst performers were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was down 7.50% to 49.48 in late trade, Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which lost 6.13% to settle at 16.99 and Klepierre SA (EPA:LOIM) which was down 6.01% to 21.74 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 287 to 242 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.13% or 8.20 to 393.80. Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.03% or 4.10 to 206.50. Shares in Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.03% or 5.40 to 183.70.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.66% or 12.80 to $1,953.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.09% or 0.76 to hit $70.43 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.13% or 0.85 to trade at $76.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 102.75.
