Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.17%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which rose 5.11% or 0.45 points to trade at 9.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 2.46% or 2.34 points to end at 97.44 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 2.46% or 3.70 points to 154.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 3.63% or 9.40 points to trade at 249.70 at the close. Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) declined 3.09% or 0.51 points to end at 15.98 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was down 2.88% or 1.41 points to 47.61.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which rose 7.01% to 8.33, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was up 6.93% to settle at 1.76 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) which gained 5.11% to close at 9.17.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 5.75% to 2.46 in late trade, Thales (EPA:TCFP) which lost 3.63% to settle at 249.70 and Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which was down 3.31% to 298.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 247 to 229 and 103 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.21% or 7.10 to $3,347.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.74% or 0.48 to hit $65.77 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.49 to trade at $67.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 99.01.
