Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.03%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 4.11% or 0.90 points to trade at 22.66 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 2.46% or 1.62 points to end at 67.60 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was up 2.31% or 0.34 points to 15.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Faurecia (PA:EPED), which fell 1.96% or 0.89 points to trade at 44.55 at the close. Air Liquide SA (PA:AIRP) declined 1.77% or 2.45 points to end at 136.10 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) was down 1.59% or 0.94 points to 58.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 7.02% to 30.200, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was up 4.59% to settle at 1.083 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which gained 4.11% to close at 22.66.
The worst performers were Valneva (PA:VLS) which was down 6.49% to 10.080 in late trade, Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which lost 4.42% to settle at 10.37 and Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) which was down 3.26% to 151.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 316 to 268 and 75 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.48% or 8.35 to $1733.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 5.32% or 3.07 to hit $60.83 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 5.48% or 3.33 to trade at $64.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.00% to 1.1812, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8632.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 92.613.
