Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.03%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (PA:SAF), which rose 2.58% or 3.35 points to trade at 133.30 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 2.26% or 0.360 points to end at 16.315 and TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) was up 1.64% or 0.36 points to 22.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP), which fell 6.49% or 3.07 points to trade at 44.20 at the close. Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) declined 1.52% or 0.34 points to end at 22.37 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was down 1.04% or 2.60 points to 248.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) which rose 9.85% to 22.75, Coface (PA:COFA) which was up 8.41% to settle at 10.70 and Faurecia (PA:EPED) which gained 6.11% to close at 40.13.
The worst performers were Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) which was down 6.49% to 44.20 in late trade, Genfit (PA:GNFT) which lost 2.64% to settle at 16.610 and Nexity (PA:NEXI) which was down 2.57% to 38.72 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 289 to 270 and 91 ended unchanged.
Shares in Safran SA (PA:SAF) rose to all time highs; up 2.58% or 3.35 to 133.30. Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 6.49% or 3.07 to 44.20. Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) fell to 5-year lows; down 6.49% or 3.07 to 44.20. Shares in Coface (PA:COFA) rose to 3-years highs; up 8.41% or 0.83 to 10.70.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.62% to 14.68 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.09% or 1.25 to $1426.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $55.29 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.15 to trade at $62.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.1228, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8981.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 96.768.
