Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which rose 1.24% or 0.38 points to trade at 31.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 0.63% or 0.028 points to end at 4.464 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 0.19% or 0.0150 points to 8.0000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which fell 3.39% or 0.220 points to trade at 6.265 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) declined 3.23% or 1.19 points to end at 35.61 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was down 3.20% or 0.175 points to 5.300.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 77 to 59 and 16 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.26% or 0.70 to $55.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.60% or 0.85 to hit $52.13 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.57% or 6.55 to trade at $1165.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.0657, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8389.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 100.86.
