Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 1.66% or 0.1450 points to trade at 8.9000 at the close. Meanwhile, Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB) added 1.46% or 0.62 points to end at 43.12 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 1.30% or 0.21 points to 16.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM), which fell 0.94% or 0.21 points to trade at 22.08 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) declined 0.93% or 0.12 points to end at 12.79 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) was down 0.86% or 0.45 points to 51.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 74 to 66 and 14 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was down 1.57% or 0.86 to $54.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.53% or 0.80 to hit $51.61 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.82% or 10.60 to trade at $1283.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.0713, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.8380.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 99.70.
