Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were YIT Oyj (HE:YIT), which rose 1.94% or 0.12 points to trade at 6.03 at the close. Meanwhile, Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) added 1.33% or 0.40 points to end at 30.54 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) was up 1.30% or 0.42 points to 32.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM), which fell 2.20% or 0.76 points to trade at 33.80 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) declined 2.17% or 0.48 points to end at 21.59 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) was down 2.01% or 0.34 points to 16.79.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 89 to 52 and 23 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.06% or 1.68 to $83.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.76% or 1.27 to hit $73.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 8.80 to trade at $1196.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1619, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8901.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 94.65.
