Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.95% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 2.04% or 1.38 points to trade at 69.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) added 1.23% or 0.17 points to end at 14.39 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was up 1.10% or 0.044 points to 4.060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which fell 5.34% or 0.187 points to trade at 3.316 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) declined 5.15% or 1.29 points to end at 23.77 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was down 4.77% or 0.565 points to 11.285.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 92 to 59 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.15% or 1.29 to 23.77. Shares in Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.77% or 0.565 to 11.285.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 2.03% or 1.23 to $59.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.21% or 1.14 to hit $50.49 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.79% or 9.70 to trade at $1219.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1284, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8863.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 97.363.
