Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM), which rose 2.39% or 0.46 points to trade at 19.71 at the close. Meanwhile, KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) added 0.98% or 0.42 points to end at 43.14 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) was up 0.88% or 0.25 points to 28.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which fell 11.37% or 0.680 points to trade at 5.300 at the close. Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) declined 4.70% or 0.520 points to end at 10.540 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was down 2.48% or 0.58 points to 22.83.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 100 to 54 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) fell to 52-week lows; falling 11.37% or 0.680 to 5.300.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.95% or 0.57 to $60.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.41% or 0.72 to hit $51.87 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 2.95 to trade at $1247.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1353, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8995.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 97.162.
