Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 2.06% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V), which rose 5.26% or 1.27 points to trade at 25.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) added 5.05% or 0.380 points to end at 7.910 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) was up 4.81% or 1.95 points to 42.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V), which fell 0.10% or 0.010 points to trade at 9.755 at the close. Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 38.23 and TeliaSonera AB (HE:TLS1V) was up 0.13% or 0.006 points to 4.572.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 143 to 38 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) rose to 5-year highs; rising 5.26% or 1.27 to 25.40.
Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.23% or 0.90 to $39.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 3.66% or 1.41 to hit $37.09 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.14% or 14.30 to trade at $1245.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.1096, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.7751.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 96.61.
