Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.11% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 3.31% or 0.2950 points to trade at 9.1950 at the close. Meanwhile, Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) added 2.70% or 1.40 points to end at 53.20 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) was up 2.29% or 0.75 points to 33.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 12.79 at the close. Konecranes Abp (HE:KCRA) added 0.06% or 0.02 points to end at 33.00 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 0.11% or 0.04 points to 38.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 84 to 51 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.70% or 1.40 to 53.20.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.25% or 0.13 to $53.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $50.85 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 2.40 to trade at $1281.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.0750, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8385.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 99.53.
