Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V), which rose 6.33% or 1.33 points to trade at 22.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 2.37% or 0.125 points to end at 5.390 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was up 1.85% or 0.82 points to 45.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM), which fell 1.08% or 0.16 points to trade at 14.63 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) declined 1.05% or 0.34 points to end at 31.92 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was down 0.69% or 0.026 points to 3.726.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 91 to 47 and 14 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.72% or 0.40 to $55.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.55% or 0.29 to hit $53.10 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.52% or 6.35 to trade at $1205.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.0749, while EUR/GBP fell 0.91% to 0.8504.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 99.89.
