Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.67% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which rose 8.71% or 2.90 points to trade at 36.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) added 2.80% or 0.280 points to end at 10.290 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 2.10% or 0.76 points to 36.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Konecranes Abp (HE:KCRA), which fell 2.78% or 0.99 points to trade at 34.67 at the close. Valmt (HE:VALMT) declined 1.52% or 0.23 points to end at 14.87 and Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) was down 0.85% or 0.38 points to 44.17.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 87 to 56 and 11 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.25% or 0.14 to $55.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.23% or 0.12 to hit $53.08 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 7.65 to trade at $1233.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.0598, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8517.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 101.09.
