Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V), which rose 1.76% or 0.50 points to trade at 28.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) added 1.52% or 0.220 points to end at 14.725 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 1.52% or 0.0980 points to 6.5420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which fell 0.87% or 0.40 points to trade at 45.52 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 0.86% or 0.23 points to end at 26.40 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was down 0.69% or 0.027 points to 3.889.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 69 to 66 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.52% or 0.220 to 14.725.
Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.52% or 1.66 to $64.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.75% or 1.72 to hit $60.88 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.68% or 9.10 to trade at $1326.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.2393, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8929.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 89.69.
