(Bloomberg) -- The closely watched report on U.S. unemployment filings was marred by a data-entry error for a second straight week, with the actual level of claims in a federal program 1 million lower than initially reported.

A Massachusetts official said in an email that the state had 115,952 initial claims last week under the federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program, not the 1,184,792 shown in the U.S. Labor Department’s report earlier Thursday. That means the 2.23 million reported figure for nationwide PUA claims was likely about half that number in reality.

Those figures are separate from the principal number tallying initial claims under regular state programs, which was reported as a seasonally adjusted 2.44 million last week.

It is extremely suspicious to be reported erronous data for second straight week, and the errata is made in favor of the market, that´s the struggle to keep the fantasy alive
Try calling to file for unemployment. No one will answer because they have so many calls coming in and not enough people to answer
Why u call? They r busy to handling online fillings. There is no time to pick up the phone. Everybody files online.
Calling for family member. We alternate calling as no one can get through to them. Filing online is not easy for self employed people.
Please stop lying to us !!! Thank You!
so another "error" again. keep the cover ups and pumping going.
They r incompetent. When was the last time they reported correctly? I cant remember. Under Obama, Gop cried fault. Under Trump, Dem cried fault. Reality is if u work for gov, u just dont care.
