Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Real Estate Investments & Services and Retailers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite added 0.21%, while the SZSE Component index climbed 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Beijing Bashi Media Co Ltd (SS:600386), which rose 10.14% or 0.350 points to trade at 3.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Shanghai Qiangsheng Holding Co Ltd (SS:600662) added 10.11% or 0.450 points to end at 4.900 and Sichuan Western Resources Holding Co Ltd (SS:600139) was up 10.06% or 0.360 points to 3.940 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jiangsu Holly Corp (SS:600128), which fell 9.97% or 1.180 points to trade at 10.660 at the close. Beijing Airport High-Tech Park Co Ltd (SS:600463) declined 9.40% or 0.890 points to end at 8.580 and Minfeng Special Paper Co Ltd (SS:600235) was down 7.86% or 0.740 points to 8.680.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Tianguang Fire-Fighting Co Ltd (SZ:002509) which rose 10.10% to 3.16, Walvax BioTech (SZ:300142) which was up 10.01% to settle at 19.89 and Hunan TV & Broadcast Intermediary Co Ltd (SZ:000917) which gained 9.97% to close at 6.84.
The worst performers were Yinyi Real Estate Co Ltd (SZ:000981) which was down 9.27% to 4.60 in late trade, Zhonghong Holding Co Ltd (SZ:000979) which lost 9.26% to settle at 0.49 and Tatwah Smartech Co Ltd (SZ:002512) which was down 7.93% to 7.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 974 to 430 and 69 ended unchanged.
Shares in Yinyi Real Estate Co Ltd (SZ:000981) fell to 5-year lows; falling 9.27% or 0.47 to 4.60. Shares in Zhonghong Holding Co Ltd (SZ:000979) fell to 5-year lows; losing 9.26% or 0.05 to 0.49. Shares in Tatwah Smartech Co Ltd (SZ:002512) fell to 3-years lows; losing 7.93% or 0.62 to 7.20.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 32.07.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 2.70 to $1223.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.76% or 0.94 to hit $54.37 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.41% or 0.88 to trade at $63.41 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.06% to 6.9417, while EUR/CNY rose 0.20% to 7.9125.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 96.53.
