Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, IT and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite added 0.55% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/TSX Composite were Boyd Group Income Fund (TO:BYD_u), which rose 9.16% or 11.84 points to trade at 141.13 at the close. Meanwhile, BRP Inc (TO:DOO) added 7.03% or 2.53 points to end at 38.51 and Crescent Point Energy Corp . (TO:CPG) was up 6.88% or 0.30 points to 4.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Martinrea International Inc . (TO:MRE), which fell 3.32% or 0.43 points to trade at 12.54 at the close. Semafo Inc . (TO:SMF) declined 3.02% or 0.12 points to end at 3.86 and Cronos Group Inc (TO:CRON) was down 2.90% or 0.8200 points to 27.4700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 604 to 472 and 123 ended unchanged.

The S&P/TSX 60 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 3.56% to 12.72.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.54% or 7.05 to $1308.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.58% or 0.35 to hit $59.88 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.18% or 0.81 to trade at $67.69 a barrel.
CAD/USD was down 0.55% to 0.7474, while CAD/EUR fell 0.14% to 0.6573.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.72% at 95.882.
