Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumption, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 1.48%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Multiplan SA (SA:MULT3), which rose 1.97% or 1.29 points to trade at 66.69 at the close. Meanwhile, ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) added 1.94% or 0.15 points to end at 7.90 and Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5) was up 1.49% or 0.46 points to 31.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4), which fell 4.85% or 0.45 points to trade at 8.82 at the close. Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) declined 3.95% or 1.51 points to end at 36.75 and Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) was down 3.89% or 0.45 points to 11.13.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 250 to 148 and 39 ended unchanged.
Shares in Multiplan SA (SA:MULT3) rose to all time highs; rising 1.97% or 1.29 to 66.69. Shares in ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.94% or 0.15 to 7.90.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.86% to 28.50.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.31% or 15.95 to $1236.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.36% or 0.73 to hit $53.10 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 1.50% or 2.20 to trade at $144.07 .
USD/BRL was down 0.07% to 3.1153, while EUR/BRL fell 0.41% to 3.3488.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 99.82.
