Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Public Utilities and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4), which rose 6.65% or 1.28 points to trade at 20.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Vale SA (SA:VALE3) added 5.04% or 1.54 points to end at 32.11 and Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) was up 4.08% or 0.99 points to 25.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3), which fell 5.39% or 0.69 points to trade at 12.11 at the close. EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) declined 4.15% or 0.37 points to end at 8.55 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) was down 3.96% or 0.90 points to 21.82.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 178 to 169 and 32 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) rose to 3-years highs; rising 6.65% or 1.28 to 20.54. Shares in Vale SA (SA:VALE3) rose to 3-years highs; rising 5.04% or 1.54 to 32.11.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.40% to 33.00.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.88% or 10.70 to $1202.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.36% or 1.24 to hit $51.24 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.22% or 0.33 to trade at $149.57 .
USD/BRL was up 0.62% to 3.2313, while EUR/BRL fell 0.06% to 3.4379.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.96% at 101.22.
