Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate, Electric Power and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.00%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 16.38% or 1.72 points to trade at 12.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Lojas Americanas SA (SA:LAME4) added 5.45% or 0.78 points to end at 15.10 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR3) was up 3.47% or 0.42 points to 12.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4), which fell 7.60% or 0.19 points to trade at 2.31 at the close. Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4) declined 6.67% or 0.44 points to end at 6.16 and ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) was down 4.46% or 0.20 points to 4.28.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 172 to 134 and 16 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.59% to 43.40.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.22% or 2.75 to $1275.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.55% or 1.64 to hit $47.85 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 2.81% or 3.65 to trade at $133.72 .
USD/BRL was down 0.73% to 3.5057, while EUR/BRL fell 0.61% to 3.9689.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 94.54.
