Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumption and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF:RECV3), which rose 2.71% or 0.41 points to trade at 15.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (BVMF:PETR4) added 2.46% or 0.78 points to end at 32.53 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (BVMF:SUZB3) was up 2.19% or 1.16 points to 54.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3), which fell 8.33% or 0.21 points to trade at 2.31 at the close. Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3) declined 7.07% or 0.68 points to end at 8.94 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:USIM5) was down 5.92% or 0.30 points to 4.77.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 516 to 409 and 53 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.38% to 26.51.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.48% or 50.22 to $3,452.62 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 8.19% or 5.57 to hit $73.61 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.60% or 2.10 to trade at $349.90 .
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.09% to 5.54, while EUR/BRL fell 0.26% to 6.40.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 98.18.
