Investing.com’s stocks of the week
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Petroleo Brasileiro SA (BVMF:PETR3), which rose 2.95% or 1.03 points to trade at 35.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) added 2.46% or 0.12 points to end at 5.00 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (BVMF:PETR4) was up 2.27% or 0.73 points to 32.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:USIM5), which fell 6.90% or 0.34 points to trade at 4.59 at the close. Vale SA (BVMF:VALE3) declined 4.50% or 2.42 points to end at 51.41 and Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (BVMF:CSAN3) was down 3.79% or 0.32 points to 8.12.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 595 to 370 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:USIM5) fell to 5-year lows; down 6.90% or 0.34 to 4.59.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.56% to 27.41.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.37% or 12.70 to $3,404.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 4.33% or 3.04 to hit $73.29 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 2.60% or 8.85 to trade at $331.40 .
USD/BRL was up 0.11% to 5.50, while EUR/BRL fell 0.56% to 6.31.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.85% at 98.38.
