Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Consumption sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Automob Participações SA (BVMF:AMOB3), which rose 3.23% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) added 2.75% or 0.17 points to end at 6.36 and Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3) was up 2.57% or 0.47 points to 18.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which fell 5.65% or 0.26 points to trade at 4.34 at the close. Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5) declined 5.07% or 0.70 points to end at 13.11 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3) was down 4.97% or 0.79 points to 15.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 639 to 347 and 49 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.37% to 27.16.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.68% or 19.19 to $2,854.19 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.30% or 0.22 to hit $72.75 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.75% or 6.60 to trade at $384.45 .
USD/BRL was down 0.61% to 5.81, while EUR/BRL fell 1.84% to 5.98.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 108.64.
