Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumption, Electric Power and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.01% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 5.32% or 0.32 points to trade at 6.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) added 3.54% or 0.63 points to end at 18.43 and Vale SA Pref (SA:VALE5) was up 3.49% or 0.84 points to 24.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which fell 7.28% or 1.15 points to trade at 14.65 at the close. Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) declined 3.54% or 0.49 points to end at 13.36 and Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) was down 2.70% or 0.85 points to 30.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 204 to 161 and 37 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.09% to 34.25.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.30% or 3.71 to $1247.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.18% or 0.95 to hit $42.56 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 1.86% or 2.31 to trade at $121.97 .
USD/BRL was up 0.13% to 3.3312, while EUR/BRL rose 0.41% to 3.7186.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 97.23.
